Advisory Taskforce

Dear Colleagues

Thank you for your engagement and input into the Tuesday meeting session this week focusing on Advisory. I really appreciate the insight and ideas you provided in the discussion – it has help shape the start of the redesign process.

Moving forward from here, I am looking to connect with a few staff who are interested in leading the codesign process as we look to build the best Advisory program possible for our community.

Purpose: The aim of the taskforce will be to consult with staff, students, and families, to develop a model to trial in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Commitment: The taskforce will meet 4 or 5 times across the semester, working towards a final proposal in May. We will agree on meeting times once we have created the group.

If you are interested in working with the taskforce, please send me an email and I can chat with you in more detail.

Have a great day
Scott

Hub now open Saturday mornings!

The Hub will now be open on Saturday mornings from 10:00-12:00 for students, parents, and staff to check out and read books. Need a quiet space for homework or study? Want to snuggle with your little one and look at picture books? Come to the Hub from 10:00-12:00!

Library staff away from 12:00-3:00

All 4 library staffmembers will be at professional development from 12:00-3:00 on Thursday. Students and staff can still check out books during that time using the self-checkout system on the 1st floor.

Advisory Attendance

Given Advisory is an important part of our school day, we are now looking to take attendance during Advisory sessions, just like regular academic classes.

As a trial, on your Managebac, you will now see Advisory appear as a class in the Block 3 row. Attendance for Advisory can be taken like any other class using the attendance function on the class page.

Advisory will appear for all 5 days of the week due to the clash between our weekly advisory cycle and our 8-day class cycle. Please ignore Tuesday’s Advisory block on your timetable (there is no Advisory on Tuesdays)
