Safer Internet Day Week 2 (Optional)Discussion/Activity

These activities are valuable but entirely optional. If you’re interested in participating in the 7-Week Safer Internet Challenge, you might consider leading a discussion or activity with your homeroom or advisory group. However, if now isn’t the right time, simply reflect on this week’s focus and how it could inform your teaching in the future.

This week we will be focusing on

Generative AI

Objective: Understand the role of generative AI in content creation and its implications.

Activity: Exploring AI-Generated Content

  • Optional Discussion Points:
    • How is AI used in creating content like text, images, and videos?
    • What are the potential benefits and challenges of AI-generated content?
    • Generative AI can be a useful and fun tool. How can we use it ethically?
  • Optional Activities:
    • The teacher plays Real or Fake? (Linked Below) as a whole class activity. When done, discuss the implications of this when considering ethical use.
    • The teacher considers where generative AI could be used ethically in a current unit, lesson, or task.
