Day: October 6, 2026

Upcoming EARCOS webinar,

There is an upcoming EARCOS webinar, Lift Every Voice: Building Inclusive Classroom Libraries for Every Learner, which may be particularly relevant to your work supporting literacy, student engagement, and inclusive learning environments.

On Saturday, October 3 at 9:00 AM (HKT), EARCOS will host Julia Torres, a nationally recognized teacher educator, veteran language arts teacher, librarian, and teen programs administrator in Denver, Colorado. She facilitates teacher development workshops focused on equity and access in literacy instruction and librarianship.

The webinar will provide an opportunity to consider how classroom libraries can better reflect and serve the diverse experiences, identities, and needs of every learner. Participants will explore approaches that connect thoughtful collection development with literacy instruction and help create more inclusive and engaging reading environments for students.

If you are interested in attending, please use this link to register.

Feel free to contact Maica Cruz (mcruz@earcos.org) if you have any questions.

EARCOS Teacher Conference (March 2027)

NIS is able to put forward two presentations to be delivered at the conference (note: EARCOS has the final decision on all presentations). Presentations can be done individually or as a pair. NIS covers conference registration for staff that are chosen to present (flights and accommodation are not covered but can be paid with your PL fund).

If you are interested in applying to present, we will be holding application pitches Week 9 on Monday & Wednesday (12pm – 1pm) in Room B160.

Applicants will need to present a short (3 – 5 minute) pitch of their presentation topic, including why it is relevant for the conference and how it will provide participants with new learning in emerging trends and/or possibilities for practice within schools; and a sample activity that they would plan on including in their presentation (5 – 7 minutes). Pitches should be 10 minutes total, and will be assessed against the EARCOS Conference Session Design and Presentation Criteria.

If you would like to apply to present, please sign up with this form. If you have any questions in the meantime, please come speak to me or send me an email.
